What’s included

Everything you need, from one team.

  • Technical SEO audit

A review of crawlability, indexing, site architecture, redirects, speed, mobile rendering, canonical tags, sitemaps, robots rules and markup, including content hidden behind scripts. Fixes come ranked by impact, and we can implement them on WordPress and Shopify.

  • Keyword research

Organic and paid keyword research grouped by intent and tied to your products and buyers. Paid search data shows which terms convert, so organic effort goes where it is most likely to pay off.

  • Competitive keyword and content audit

Where competitors rank, which topics they cover that you don't, which of your pages sit just off the first page, and which buyer questions nobody answers well. The result is a shortlist of realistic wins.

  • Content recommendations and briefs

New pages and updates to existing ones, prioritized by opportunity, with briefs your writers or ours can work from. Each brief sets out the search intent, the questions to answer and an answer-first page structure.

  • Structured data

Schema markup for your organization, services, articles, FAQs and case studies, so search engines and AI assistants read each page correctly. Scheduled crawls flag invalid markup, and a person reviews each fix.

  • llms.txt

A plain text file at the root of your site that points AI tools to your most important pages in a clean, readable format. It is quick to create and maintain, and we keep it current as your content changes.

  • AI visibility tracking

We run a defined set of buyer questions through AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews on a schedule, log where you are mentioned and cited, and judge whether the answers describe you accurately.

  • Monthly content program

New pages, refreshes of pages slipping in rankings, internal linking, schema additions and technical fixes, with priorities reset each month. Our writers work in your voice, and subject experts on your side review for accuracy.

  • Performance reporting

Rankings, organic traffic, conversions and leads from search, and AI mentions, with organic and paid data side by side where we have both. Each report includes a short written summary of what changed and what to do next.

  • AI-assisted content briefs

AI assembles a first draft of each brief from search results and competitor pages. A strategist edits it, and writers produce the content in your voice, checked for accuracy by people.

  • AI answer monitoring

We run a defined set of buyer questions through AI assistants on a schedule and log where you are mentioned and cited. People judge whether the answers are accurate and decide what to change.

The work

SEO and AEO, in practice.

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot.

What is AEO?

AEO, or answer engine optimization, is the practice of making your content easy for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews to find, understand and quote. Search engines rank pages. AI assistants read pages, extract facts and compose an answer, sometimes with a link and sometimes without one. AEO relies on answer-first page structure, consistent facts about who you are, structured data and an llms.txt file, built on the same technical foundation as good SEO.

Do we need SEO, AEO or both?

Most brands need both, and 4:59 runs them as one program. AI assistants draw on the same pages search engines index, and many answers cite their sources, so fast, crawlable, well-structured and useful pages serve both. Search also still drives a large share of visits for most brands. AEO adds a layer on top: question-led page structure, schema markup, an llms.txt file and tracking whether assistants mention you for the questions your buyers ask.

How soon will we see results from SEO?

It depends on your site's starting point, your competition and how much content needs to change. Technical fixes can show up sooner than new content, which needs time to be crawled and earn trust. We agree milestones and a fixed schedule at kickoff and report against them, so you always know where things stand.

What does a monthly SEO and AEO program include, and who writes the content?

Each month we review rankings, organic traffic, conversions and AI mentions, then agree the month's work: new pages, updates to pages slipping in rankings, internal linking, schema additions and technical fixes. Our writers can produce content in your voice, with subject experts on your side reviewing for accuracy. If your team prefers to write, we provide research and briefs and review drafts before they go live. Partners Capital runs a monthly content and SEO program with us.

What does a technical SEO audit check?

It checks whether search engines and AI crawlers can find, render and understand your pages. We review crawlability, indexing, site architecture, internal linking, redirects, broken links, page speed, mobile rendering, duplicate content, canonical tags, sitemaps, robots rules and structured data, and look for content that only appears after scripts run. On migrated sites we hunt for lost redirects and orphaned pages. Each issue comes with the pages affected and the recommended fix, ranked by impact.

Can you improve our SEO without redesigning the site?

Yes. Many gains come from technical fixes, structured data, better internal linking and improvements to existing pages. 4:59 can make these changes on WordPress and Shopify or hand them to your developers. If the audit shows the site's structure is the real limit, we will tell you and explain the trade-offs.

How do you protect search traffic during a redesign or migration?

We inventory every URL, map old pages to new ones, keep the content that earns traffic, consolidate pages that compete with each other and set up redirects before launch. After launch we watch indexing, crawl errors and rankings and fix issues quickly. For ActionIQ, a rebrand on a modular WordPress theme included a migration of more than 800 pages, and organic search traffic rose 300%. For Aperture, we migrated more than 3,000 pages from Magento to WordPress.

How do you choose which keywords and topics to pursue?

We look at what your buyers search for, what competitors rank for and where you have a realistic chance to win. Competitive audits show the gaps: topics you don't cover, pages stuck just off the first page and questions nobody answers well. Paid search data shows which terms convert, which tells us where organic effort will pay off. For Discuss.io, SEO data drove both the site structure and the content strategy.

What makes content quotable by AI assistants, and do we need llms.txt?

AI assistants quote content that answers a specific question clearly, states facts consistently and is easy to parse. That means answer-first summaries, question-style headings, short self-contained paragraphs and FAQs that stand on their own, backed by schema markup. An llms.txt file is a plain text file at the root of your site that points AI tools to your most important pages. It is quick to create and maintain, so we include one in AEO work.

How do you report on SEO and AEO performance?

We report on organic traffic, conversions and leads from search, positions for priority keywords, and how often AI assistants mention or cite you. Reports arrive on a regular cadence with a short written summary of what changed, why and what we'll do next. Your team gets access to the same data we use, and where we see both organic and paid search data, we put them side by side. A named owner at 4:59 answers for the results.
